Description
Epitalon, also spelled epithalon, is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) developed from research on epithalamin, a polypeptide extract of the pineal gland. It is one of the best-known short peptides from the bioregulator research tradition.
Published studies have investigated epitalon for its effects on telomerase activity and telomere length in cultured human somatic cells, on chromatin condensation in lymphocytes, and on melatonin secretion rhythms in aged rodents and primates. Long-term rodent studies of age-associated parameters have also been reported. Much of this literature comes from a single research school, which investigators should weigh when designing new work. Its very short sequence also makes it a convenient model in studies of peptide–DNA interaction.
Keep lyophilised epitalon sealed and refrigerated or frozen.
Intended solely for laboratory research by qualified professionals. Not for human or veterinary use, and not for diagnostic purposes.
Supplied as a 10-vial kit of lyophilised powder. Dispatched in 1–2 business days.
