Description
P21, referenced in the scientific literature as P021, is a small peptidomimetic derived from an active region of ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF). An adamantylglycine residue was added to the C-terminus to increase lipophilicity and stability.
Preclinical work has investigated P021 for its effects on dentate gyrus neurogenesis and synaptic plasticity markers in rodents. Transgenic mouse models of Alzheimer’s-type pathology have been used to examine its influence on tau phosphorylation, cognitive performance and the leukaemia inhibitory factor (LIF) signalling pathway. It is used by researchers interested in small-molecule mimetics of neurotrophic factors. Comparisons with full-length CNTF help researchers distinguish the activity of the mimetic from that of the parent protein.
Keep lyophilised material sealed and cold.
Sold strictly as a research chemical for in-vitro and preclinical laboratory work. Not for human consumption or veterinary use.
Supplied as a 10-vial kit of lyophilised powder. Dispatched in 1–2 business days.
