Description
AOD-9604 is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues 177–191 of human growth hormone with an N-terminal tyrosine (often referred to as the hGH 176–191 fragment). The fragment was originally developed to separate the metabolic activity attributed to this region from growth hormone’s other actions.
Rodent and adipocyte studies have investigated AOD-9604 for its effects on lipolysis and lipogenesis, reporting activity on lipid metabolism without changes in IGF-1 levels in those models. A separate line of preclinical research has examined it in rabbit models of cartilage injury. Its lack of growth-promoting activity makes it a useful comparison compound in growth hormone fragment research.
