Description
KPV (L-lysyl-L-prolyl-L-valine) corresponds to residues 11–13 of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). Interest in the tripeptide grew from observations that this short C-terminal fragment retains part of the parent hormone’s activity on inflammatory pathways while lacking its melanotropic effects.
Preclinical research has examined KPV in intestinal epithelial cell lines and in murine colitis models, focusing on NF-κB activation and the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Studies have also explored its uptake through the PepT1 di/tripeptide transporter and its incorporation into nanoparticle delivery systems for gut-targeted research. Skin keratinocyte models represent a further area of investigation. Its small size also makes it a convenient model for peptide transport studies.
Keep lyophilised KPV sealed and cold, protected from humidity.
Research chemical only. The summary above reflects published preclinical literature and is not a statement of suitability for any human or veterinary use.
